Writing Goals, Twilight Storytellers, and THE MUSES

I decided to make a video today about my writing goals for the year.

I’ve had a good start to the year as far as writing goes. I’m almost done with another round of edits on THE MUSES, and I feel better than ever about where the novel is right now. “2015 is going to be your year!” my literary agent said to me recently, and I am optimistically agreeing with her.

I did get some bad news today when I discovered that my screenplay proposal did not advance to the top 20 in the Twilight Storytellers project. I know, though, that all art is subjective, and I am trying not to be too disappointed. Most of the top 20 that did make it were about the Cullens, and mine was about Jane. I think the fans wanted to see short films about the Cullens, and filmmaking is, after all, a business. Some of my favorites, though, did end up in the top 20, and I am still very excited to see the final five films that these awesome ladies end up making.

I have more to say about rejection and how it’s actually a very positive force in our lives (particularly mine) but that is a subject for another post.

Anyway. I feel pretty good about where my writing is going this year, and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the year has in store!
